A typical Canadian trademark application may be subjected to dozens of different prosecution events.  As of 15-Feb-2021, CIPO has defined 182 different prosecution events.

Every pending application must also pass through an opposition phase, during which the application may be subjected to dozens of different opposition events.  As of 15-Feb-2021, CIPO has defined 167 different opposition events.

Once registered, a Canadian trademark may be subjected to cancellation (i.e. expungement) proceedings, pursuant to either Section 44 or Section 45 of the Trademarks Act, during which the registration may be subjected to dozens of different cancellation events.  As of 15-Feb-2021, CIPO has defined 53 different cancellation events.

The above image shows applications filed in either 2018 or 2019 which were active as of as of 09-Feb-2021 and which had been subjected to the "Cross Examination Order on Applicant - Rule 42" opposition event.
